About this lesson
When you type a web address, your browser asks a server for a page. The server sends back HTML, CSS and JavaScript files and the browser displays them.
- HTML gives structure: headings, text, images, links
- CSS gives style: colour, spacing, layout
- JavaScript gives behaviour: menus, forms, animations
Tip: right-click any website and choose Inspect to see its code. Reading real code is the fastest way to learn.
Set up: install VS Code, create a folder called my-site, and open it in the editor.
